Natural gas supply structure
In 2008, domestic production accounted for more than 30% of the gas supply volume of PGNiG SA. The remainder originated from imports, mainly from Russia, countries of Central Asia and Germany.

The actual demand for natural gas is always greater than the reported sales volume of PGNiG because the Company also uses gas for operational purposes in the transmission and distribution system.

PGNiG imports gas within the framework of below-mentioned contracts:
- long-term contract for Russian gas supply from 15th September 1996 with Gazexport, which is in force till 2022;
- agreement on German gas supply from 17th August 2006 with VNG-Verbundnetz GAS AG. The agreement is valid till 1st October 2016;
- agreement on German gas supply from 15th September 2004 with VNG-Verbundnetz GAS AG/E.O.N Ruhrgas AG. The agreement was valid till 30th September 2008;
- agreement on Central Asia gas supply from 17th November 2006 with RosUkrEnergo AG, valid till 1st January 2010;
- agreement on German gas supply from 29th September 2008 with VNG-Verbundnetz GAS AG. The agreement is valid till 1st October 2011.
