The office location is Forus, between Stavanger and Sandnes.
The Company was established in May 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary of The Polish Oil & Gas Company (PGNiG SA) with head office in Warsaw.
The business profile of PGNiG Norway includes production of crude oil and natural gas, and other similar activities related to oil and gas production.
PGNiG Norway may also engage in infrastructure projects, such as construction and operation of gas pipelines. The Company's ambition is to qualify as an operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
The purpose of establishing a Norwegian company is to carry out PGNiG's business on the NCS. This is in line with PGNiG SA's development strategy. The NCS is recognized as an important area for international upstream activities. PGNiG SA is therefore engaging substantial resources to expand in Norway and create the largest center of PGNiG SA's activities outside Poland.
PGNiG Norway holds an 11.9175% interest in the Skarv Unit production license.
In addition, PGNiG Norway has acquired a number of other licenses on NCS.
The name PGNiG stands for "Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo" - The Polish Oil and Gas Company.
